So in Lily's post explaining the various ranks she talks about participation (i.e. doing stuff with the FC) and how you need to participate to help rank up in the FC.
I want to make this post to help clarify the difference between participating and being carried.
If you don't know what being carried means - it's basically whenever one player effectively recruits the help of a lot of stronger players constantly to help them through content they might not normally be able to clear on their own. Basically it allows them to not work their job as hard and kick back and be "carried" by the rest of the group to a win.
Now, there's nothing wrong with asking for help in the FC. We encourage it! But running stuff with the FC can actually be disadvantageous if done constantly. It makes you lax in your job because no matter how you slice it, running Tam Tara Deepcroft or Brayflox's Longstop with a bunch of Level 50s in Item Level 90 gear does actually make it quite a bit easier, even if they're level synced.
Basically, we want people who are leveling to participate by not being afraid to ask for help when necessary, but we also want you guys to go out and run dungeons and trials on your own as well. Playing with other people you don't know helps you learn how to play your job class. We can't run you through every single dungeon of the Main Story from Sastasha to Praetorium. It's not fair to you as a player, and it's not fair to us as leadership either.
And if you ask for help and people are either unable to help or just don't want to - please do not hold that against them and don't take it personally. All of us have stuff we might be doing at any given time in game, and may not want to pull away from that (or can't - in the event of running instanced content.) There's also stuff some of us just don't like to run. For instance, I hate Aurum Vale and will absolutely refuse to run it because even with a good party, it's a pain in the butt as a healer and I get stressed.
If no one is around to help at the time and you're really terrified of the content, just mention that you really don't want to do it on your own. We can likely set up a day or time to run it with you!
So for the record - We're more than happy to help out! It totally counts as FC participation while you're leveling. But make sure you don't overdo it and constantly find yourself asking for FC runs of content while leveling. You'll end up regretting it because the difficulty spike at Level 50 can be somewhat surprising. And if people are unable or just don't want to run the content you're requesting, please don't hold it against them or take it personally.
It's important to add here that this is just part of the FC trying to lay some ground rules and organization basics and stuff. This wasn't brought on by any one individual nor was 'carrying' excessively heavy in the FC.
